Peabody achieves Good Business Charter accreditation

We have become the first housing association to be awarded the respected Good Business Charter (GBC) accreditation, underscoring our commitment to ethical business practices and social responsibility.

The Good Business Charter is an independent UK-based certification recognising responsible business behaviour across ten key areas, including employee wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, environmental responsibility, and commitment to customers.
To earn the accreditation, we had to demonstrate our performance in all ten areas - showing we operate with integrity, fairness and respect for all stakeholders, including employees, residents, suppliers and the environment.
Ian McDermott, Chief Executive of Peabody, said: “Residents expect us to maintain high ethical standards, and we hold ourselves to the same standards. This accreditation reinforces our commitment to putting people and the planet first in all we do, and I’m hoping other like-minded organisations in the housing sector and beyond will join us in becoming accredited.”
The accreditation was announced at the Good Business Charter's fifth anniversary celebration on Thursday 13 February, attended by more than 100 business leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and General Secretary of the TUC, Paul Novak.
