We’re here to support local communities - for everyone who calls them their home
The rising cost of living means this work is more important than ever. Many people are having to choose between heating their homes, eating and paying for other essentials.
We work with our residents to make sure they have the help and support they need to overcome these challenges.
We give our residents choice in how they access our services. Whether that’s face-to-face, over the phone or online through My Peabody.
Plus, our online support finder has details of organisations and resources to help residents with the increasing cost of living, support their wellbeing and boost their skills and opportunities.
We also have a team that helps residents increase their income or provide energy and financial support if needed.
PeerUp is a website we created to help people save on their shopping and food.
Each community has its own initiatives to help people who are struggling. There are cosy corners in our community centres, community cafes, food banks, pantries and more to give our residents the chance to buy affordable food through the FareShare Programme. Because we know that feeding a family is hard when the budget is tight, especially at the moment.
Access to affordable childcare is a challenge for many families. As well as supporting people to become childminders or to work in the childcare sector, we offer ‘social value leases’ to nursery businesses. So that more families can access quality, low-cost childcare.
Helping our residents boost their income by finding a job, a better job or even a longer-term career path is at the heart of tackling inequality. We offer apprenticeships, access to training and advice and support where needed.
